1. Squeeze in a dance while carrying your baby/toddler

While looking after a baby or toddler seems like a workout on its own, why not squeeze in a dance routine here and there to make it more fun? Not only is your upper body getting toned, but light cardio is also beneficial to your lower body. Not to mention that running up and down after kids all day long can be beneficial but of course, like any workout, the pace is important.

2. Lunge while vacuuming

Work your hips, thighs, and buttocks by lunging forward. Your back should remain straight, and your knees should be bent at 90 degrees. Keep your knees from going over your toes. Alternate your legs as you move around. Make sure to switch hands every five strokes.

3. Use the stairs for walking lunges (upstairs)

Stairs are a great way to get in the stretches and cardio you need. Whether it’s running up and down constantly or slow lunges in between, they are a dynamic way to incorporate a daily workout. In the same process as above, keep your hands on your hips or one on the rail as you move up the stairs. Make sure to take advantage of the incline for deeper lunges. Rotate legs as you move on up.

4. Stretch while dusting high areas

I’m sure it’s been a while since you’ve tried stretching at all, but it’s a good way to gain a lot more flexibility and a good warm-up for the different workouts you'll be doing. 5. Squat whenever you have to pick things up or put them down

Squatting is a good way to work out your various muscles at the same time. It is an ideal workout to squeeze in whenever you can especially when you need to lift, pick up, or put down anything. This includes picking up laundry, toys, doing the dishes, as well as using the loo too. It is important to maintain the right posture to get it right and get the most value out of it.

6. Sweep and mop using strapped weights to your ankles or arms

While changing your pace now and then is helpful for cardio, using weights can help you tone and build muscle so that you can also maintain the shape you’re working towards. Arm and ankle weights are a great investment and highly effective for the small chores here and there.

7. Put on fast music and clean to the pace of it for high-intensity cardio
